In three days I shall begin my quest to conquer the whole of East Africa. After having lived there for four months I'll have wrestled with crocodiles; rafted down the Nile; frollicked with elephants, lions, and giraffes; learned my way around the Safari Capital of the World; and hopefully, learned a whole heck of a lot about Africa and International Development. I'll be studying at the United States International University based in Kenya's capital city of Nairobi, learning the native tongue of Swahili, and volunteering 150 hours of work at a soon-to-be-determined internship--all while having the most fun and doing the most traveling as possible. This blog will hopefully allow me to keep in touch with all of my loved ones back home in the States and, if I'm really lucky, maybe it will help me shed some light on the World's most misunderstood continent. Wish me luck! Kwa herini! Ashley
